The Master of Science in Management with a concentration in Organizational Leadership and Change (MSM-OLC) is a 48-credit-hour program offered online and at the Aurora campus. The program includes 28 credit hours devoted to the management core and 20 credit hours for the organizational leadership and change concentration.

In this degree program, students have the opportunity to develop knowledge and skills in organizational leadership theory, research, strategy, and methodology. The program emphasizes self-awareness as manager/leader in small groups, complex organizations, and organizational change in multicultural contexts. While this program is strongly grounded in organizational, strategic, and change management theory, the curriculum is focused on practical, growth-oriented activities to promote educational relevance and applicability in today’s challenging business and institutional environments. The degree program is designed for those who wish to broaden and expand on their experience in organizational leadership and change management.

This program does not lead to additional licensure or certification. As such, CTU has made no determination regarding prerequisites for licensure or certification in any state or jurisdiction.

The following subjects are addressed in the course: financial reports and metrics, financial analysis and planning, financial forecasting, financial markets, financial leverage, working capital management, capital budgeting processes, cost of capital and long term financing. The student will apply the knowledge learned by completing a financial strategy report and accomplishing a research report summarizing an application of financial analysis from either the academic or professional literature. INTD600 This course analyzes the concepts of leadership and management for ethical behavior and legal compliance. It also evaluates ethical decision-making processes and cultural competence. A variety of complex ethical issues confronting industry leaders and professionals are explored. The course is designed to help students prepare to become successful strategists as well as more effective managers and leaders of change by taking them through the change management cycle. MGMT676 This course includes many aspects of leadership and power within organizations. Critiquing differing styles of leadership is an important part of determining when a certain style or combination of styles might be preferred. The world of organizational power and politics is complex and a knowledge of those concepts can help to improve performance in organizations. In leadership power transitions, it's necessary to have an action plan. MGMT677 In this course, students study various organizational design principles and when each might lead the organization and its leaders to their desired goals. Other concepts/models in the course include integration, environmental complexity and dynamism, and decision-making rights. Executive Program Director

Dr. Catherine McBride has been at CTU since January 2021, serving as an Executive Program Director for the College of Business and Management. Catherine has been in higher education for 22 years, with 18 years of online education experience across a variety of institutions in varying capacities but always serving non-traditional learners.

Dr. David Gliddon

Executive Program Director

Dr. Gliddon is an Executive Program Director in the College of Business and Management. In previous roles at CTU, he was a Program Chair and Lead Faculty. He has taught over 20 courses in the undergraduate, MBA, and doctoral programs. He has provided service to the university on a number of committees and special projects.

Courses for the Master of Science in Management in Organizational Leadership and Change start online approximately every five weeks. The Master of Science in Management in Organizational Leadership and Change degree program consists of 48 credits. You may be eligible for transfer credit, which is evaluated on an individual basis. Not all credits are eligible to transfer.
